When we here the word vacation, most of us tend to think of beautiful vacation resorts with white sandy beaches, turquoise waters and warm sunshine somewhere on a far away Caribbean island where the water sparkles and sun tans are in full swing.

Everyone of us has our own special thoughts of what a dream vacation is. Some of us like to stay at beautiful vacation resorts where it's nice and warm and others like to take vacations up in the mountains where white powdered snow is in abundance. It doesn't matter what your ideal dream vacation is, just so you get to take them.

Most people think with the economy being the way it is, that this isn't a good time to take a nice long vacation. That they can't afford to. But the fact is, now is the best time to take that dream vacation to one of your favorite vacation spots. Vacation Rentals

If you are traveling alone or with others, vacation rental is a new concept makes you consider because you need to know about hotels and time-shares. You couldn't stop thinking about it, if wanting the vacation rental idea.
 
I've always wanted to vacation in Europe, haven't we all, but I could never really give the idea credence because, in the deep recesses of my brain, I knew hotel accommodations would be just too cost prohibitive. When I began to explore the vacation rental, I realized that a European vacation might be within my grasp after all!
 
Comparing hotel rates with vacation rental rates, it is apparent that I can get more for less with a vacation rental. If you're traveling with another couple or a group, the per person savings can be tremendous.

Multigenerational Vacations

Family vacations, multigenerational vacations, call it what you will. It seems to be one of the trends in travel that is growing.

We have good friends who rent a house in Lake Tahoe, California every summer, and four generations spend a week there. This is a great way for families who live spread apart to see each other and have vacation too.

I have other friends who take their vacation every summer to go and visit family... I keep thinking they could plan a multigenerational vacation and have the best of both worlds, just like that first family I mentioned.

Let me clear one thing up right at the beginning.... We've read some articles that say you shouldn't count grandparents out... that today's grandparents are active and engaged. That's an understatement. All the grandparents I know are so active their kids would have trouble keeping up with them!
